Another Cuyuna Lakes Yeti group hug goes to Light and Motion. Tonight, at the Friday Night Fat Bike Ride Ride and Snow Shoe Tour, Light and Motion will be bringing along a very nice mix of lights for registered riders to demo.

Super sweet!

Even better Light and Motion also donated a Stella 300 light that will given away as a prize during the Whiteout Award Ceremony Saturday night. Thank you Light and Motion, you rock!

On Saturday, March 2nd, race packets may be picked up at Cycle Path and Paddle in Crosby (7a-9a), along with sweet tasties provided by the Heartland Kitchen in Crosby. Yum.

Registration is not available on Saturday the 2nd, just race packet pick-up.

A tooth sharpening for Yeti? O my.

We’re just now receiving this report from Delano, MN. It looks like the Cuyuna Lakes Yeti made a dental appointment for a last second tooth sharpening.

At the time of this writing it’s unclear if Yeti did this in preparation for Bud and Lou invading his turf or perhaps this year he wants to fight fire with fire and entertain a battle royal with the titanium Mukluk.

Either way, we’re thankful to Skol (Greg is his real name) Glavan, DDS of Crow River Dental in Delano for sending along this picture of the X-Ray following Yeti’s procedure. (and also for having a yeti sized sense of humor!)

We’re also thankful to Crow River Dental and Dr. Glavan for their partnership in the Cuyuna Lakes Whiteout. Pretty sweet. Not only do we have a Yeti with sharp teeth, we also have an official dentist of the Cuyuna Lakes Yeti.

Look for Dr. Skol (we mean Greg) Glavan at the Whiteout, he’ll be there to assist should the Yeti need any touch up work during the two day event.

Whiteout partner Shimano has really loved on the Whiteout. Not only have the donated all of the sweet product, apparel, and schwag that you see above (personally, I’d love to have those gray and red grips) they have also brought our way (5) rolls of race tape, XT pedals, floor pumps, and mini-tools.

We think it’s safe to say that the 2013 Cuyuna Lakes Whiteout awards ceremony and “amazin’ swag giveaway is going to even one up last years party.” The momentum is built, the snow is here, the trails are packed, and the scene is set. All that’s unknown is if you are going to register. We hope you do. The Yeti appreciates your support.

A visual preview of the Friday Night Fat Bike Ride.

Our Whiteout partners Dogwood Designs (makers of the Pogie - which are a great way to keep your hands warm on a night ride) and Light & Motion are amping up the ride this year.

We’ll have night ride groups for beginner and experts alike and Light & Motion will be bringing with them a number of lights that you’ll have the opportunity to demo!

There will also be a snow shoe tour if you’d prefer to stomp. Don’t forget to register online before February 27th!

After tonight, you’ll still be able to register and buy a shirt online up to February 27th, however we cannot guarantee shirts will be available online or the day of. Once we sell out of sizes, the option to purchase the size will be removed from the online registration.

All Whiteout proceeds after event expenses go 100% towards the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain and Fat Bike Trails maintenance and expansion.

8 inches of fresh snow - The whiteout before the Whiteout.

This past Sunday the Cuyuna Lakes and much of Minnesota was blanketed with a fresh coat of the winter whites. At the Sagamore and Yawkey Fat Bike Trails here in Cuyuna we are proud to report 8 inches of the fresh goodness.

The Minnesota DNR, Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Crew and the Snow Zombies (snow shoe folks who stomp our sweet single track in the Yawkey Unit) have been alerted and are already on the go, pounding down the snow and grooming the fat bike trails!

Both units of fat bike trails are temporarily closed at the time of this writing to allow for grooming.

Here are a couple dates to remember as we approach the big day.

Friday, February 15th, 2013
This is the last day to register online for a Cuyuna Lakes Whiteout shirt. After the 15th we will not have the ability to guarantee the availability of shirts as we approach the big day.

Wednesday, February 27th, 2013
